(I didn't know that it was best to post on a daily basis, so I do apologize for this initial story being so long.--I will chop it up to a couple of days--although they will have the same date--it will be easier to read!)

I am a jeweler by trade and have been making jewelry for the past 25 years. I started out working under an apprenticeship in Virginia-where I grew up for the most part in my early twenties 'til now the harsh forties. (NOT) that is about the harsh forties.
In between learning how to make the jewelry, I would set up on a weekly basis at Malls throughout the Eastern Shores. Most of the week would consist of driving to my destination.....between Virginia to New Hampshire all the way over to Buffalo, New York down to Columbus, Ohio and anything in between. I would drive to the mall, which for some areas the drive time would range between 1hour to 13 hours. So you drive on Tuesday-----get to your mall that was having the Arts and Craft show, find the promoter that was putting on the show, find your spot, drive your van around or whatever you might of been driving to the exit door that would get you close to your spot--unload your display, which would consist of tables, chair, work bench (yes, I would also work at my booth making the jewelry), lights, any and all of your props, the dolly to pull everything in, cloths for the tables, buffer and tools to work with, however many cases you might have for your jewelry and take ALL of this in and then set up in your spot.
Now remember this is setting up in your Mall down the road. So we are setting up....some take hours upon hours to set up--getting out around 2-3am others maybe a couple. In the beginning of setting up my shows, it took me probably three hours to set up. We also couldn't set up (which I forgot to mention earlier) until after the mall was closed. So that ended up being around 9-9:30pm depending on the mall. So again--for only three hours of setting up and getting out around midnight to some that don't get out until 2-3ish wasn't all that bad for me.
